Tips to Keep Produce Fresh and Lasting Long
Every week we welcome listeners and experts on to share tidbits of advice and hard earned wisdom on our short, 5 minute pro-tip episodes. This week, Listener Laura called in with a few tips to keep produce fresh and ready to use throughout the week.
- Wash, de-stem and chop up greens and as soon as you get them home. You’re more likely to use what is clean and ready!
- Chop and prep carrot sticks, celery, cucumbers in advance for stir fries, salads and snacks. Keep them in a airtight container and they’ll last the whole week.
This is a great reminder that a little bit of prep work can make a huge difference!
